configured as per instructions.
Port was 64xxx.tried that -no good. tried 3456-no good.
Says GT started running - then next message says "failed to parse client request"
At bottom says GT idle.
Tried a couple of random port #'s - no good.
6xxx OK
restarted Az - message - HTTP proxy localhost:6xxx check failed.Connect timeout (when it listened to 6xxx in config wiz it was OK)
I noticed some-one else had to change to utorrent for GT to work, surely that is not the only soln?

I guess you have configured both GreedyTorrent and Azureus to listen on the same port. The listen ports for both of them should be different, lets say for example, 3456 for GreedyTorrent and 12345 for Azureus.
The default port configuration setting works for most of the users. Make sure you don't have a blocking firewall and the ports you configure are not used already.
Try the following steps,
1. Start GreedyTorrent and configure it to listen on port 6789.
2. Restart GreedyTorrent and keep it running in the background.
3. Start Azureus, configure it to listen on any other port, say for example 12345.
4. Configure Azureus to use http proxy at localhost:6789.
5. Restart Azureus.
It should solve your problems. Let us know if you run into more trouble.

Admin. |

Followed instructions.(I must be more computer illeterate than I thought.)
some improvement..eehah!
now, Listened - 64xx - ok
Config - 64yy - ok ie NOT same # as 64xx
did connect briefly to tbp.tracker.prq to 85.17.40.34
Showed D/L = 32 U/L = 224 Mod U/L = 176.4
Then sadly - Unable to connect to host 85.17.36.114
tried to connect to Inferno demonoid.com and sladink something but no luck.
GT is idle
How do I check for firewall. I have McAfee
Keep the advice coming,please
Thanks.I appreciate your patience.

If Azureus was able to connect to the tracker via GreedyTorrent briefly, then it means you have configured it properly. It could be possible that the tracker went down (they often do!) the second time it tried to update. GreedyTorrent will update as soon as it comes online again.
You can verify if GreedyTorrent is working properly using a reliable tracker such as bittorrent.com. Try downloading some free torrents from www.bittorrent.com, and see if it gets updated correctly. |

Seems to be working but does not connect every time.
However when it does, the ratios are nice.
eg.1705 dl=2.9 ul=2.2 mod ul=16
couldn't connect again until
1730 dl=0 ul=0 mod ul=0
couldn't again until
1751 dl=199.5 ul=109.1 mod ul=1 gig lovely!!
Now 1802
Nothing yet
Seems OK?

I seem to have similar problems.
Each time I open Azureus, I receive the following Azureus pop-up: "Warning - HTTP proxy localhost:3456 check failed: Connect timeout".
In GreedyTorrenr's window, most of the messages are optimistic:
- Tracker update request sent.
- Data received from tracker.
- Connected to tracker ...
But some are not good:
- Failed to resolve host name ...
- Unable to connect to host ...
Perhaps this is normal behavior, I still would like to know why each time I open Azureus, I receive the warning. Any ideas?
btw, Azureus and GreedyTorrent are configured to different ports. |

Please make sure GreedyTorrent is running before you start Azureus. Some trackers deny requests when its under high load, so its normal to receive "unable to connect to host" messages once in a while.
Also, most torrents on public trackers come with multiple tracker addresses, of which some might be offline at the instant you update. GreedyTorrent displays the "Failed to resolve host name" message when its unable to resolve the tracker server address to corresponding IP.
As long as you are getting success responses in GreedyTorrent window, you can be sure that you have configured it well and its working properly.
Please let us know if you run into more trouble.
